Spend the Day at De Palm Island in Aruba

Posted in Articles | by

Our family visited Aruba last winter, and as you can imagine, everyone had a favorite activity they wanted to do. My husband and son wanted to do anything that went fast, jumped waves and got their adrenaline revved up to chart-topping degrees. I, on the other hand, had visions of a lounge chair, a cabana boy (which I have the two mentioned above in training), some snorkeling and staring at the clouds. Obviously, we have two distinct beach styles in our family.

We were in Aruba eight years ago and visited De Palm Island with our preschool-age son and knew it was laid back and perfect for his age at the time, but we questioned whether he would enjoy it now. After some research, we found the park now offered some new opportunities that we wanted to explore. First of all, it is an all-inclusive adventure: you pay one price and all the food, drinks and most of the activities are included, with the exception of some upgrades such as Snuba, Sea Trek, Massage, and others. Read my De Palm Island review below to see why we think it’s worth spending a day at this all-inclusive park.

De Palm Island, Aruba All-Inclusive Park

After we booked our tickets from the tour desk at Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resortthe tour operator scheduled our transportation, and a bus promptly picked us up at the hotel and returned us after our adventure. It was nice not having to figure out how to get there by driving ourselves, and the transportation was included in the ticket price.

The waterpark attraction includes six slides. It’s perfect for younger children as it isn’t particularly big, but the adults enjoyed it as well.

The beach area was perfect for snorkeling and enjoying the water. The area isn’t very large, but the rock barriers keep the water calm. The bottom of the beach has some rocky areas, and I recommend wearing beach shoes.

De Palm Island Aruba Reviews - Playing at the beach

Your kids will love snorkeling in the calm waters at the De Palm Island, Aruba all-inclusive park.

De Palm Island also offers a zip line, unlimited banana boat rides, air jumpers, volleyball, dance lessons and a human Foosball area. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful; it was obvious they wanted to make sure that everyone had a great time

The food was standard buffet food for breakfast and lunch. There was also a snack bar with hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken strips and french fries. Beverages included water, sodas and fruity drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and everything was included in the price.

This all-day adventure was a low stress, go-at-your-own-pace activity. It was exactly the low key, relaxing day that Mom was looking for, and my boys probably rode the banana boat 10 times.
