Fun Places to Eat in Aruba with Kids
On our recent trip to Aruba, we stayed at Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino. This property was not only perfectly situated on the white sand beaches, you could also walk out the front entrance to some fabulous restaurants without having to take transportation. This was a plus for us because we had made friends early in the week from North Carolina, and we enjoyed sharing our meals with them. With so many restaurants in close proximity to the resort, we could all walk and didn’t have to worry about taking multiple cabs for each family.
In Aruba it’s easy to get out and about, either by car or cab, and the island offers some incredible restaurants. Considering our family enjoyed wearing ourselves out with beach and water sport activities, we preferred to stay close to the hotel. Here are some of the restaurants in Aruba that we enjoyed on this trip.
Top Aruba Restaurants for Families
Gilligan’s is one of the restaurants located inside the Hilton, and we enjoyed every meal we had there. They offer great sandwiches, burgers and salads during the day and fabulous seafood in the evening. The service is top notch, which also kept drawing us back in. Call me crazy, but one of my favorite things is a cheeseburger and French fries on the beach, and Gilligan’s was perfect for this every day.
Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill
This restaurant is located on the beach right beside the Hilton resort and on a pier above the ocean. The Bugaloe Beach Bar and Grill was a great place for a casual meal at lunch. We attempted to eat there with our friends and our children for dinner, but the live music was so loud we couldn’t even speak to each other. Fortunately we realized this before we ordered. However, the music was great if you weren’t looking to have a conversation as well.
Gianni’s Ristorante Italiano
It is hard for me to think about Gianni’s without my mouth starting to water. Supposedly they serve fabulous seafood, Italian food and desserts. However, I was so caught up in the Cheese Wheel and my own food that I didn’t pay much attention to the others. Ok, that is not entirely true. I sampled a bit of other dishes that my family ordered but really enjoyed my own. The Cheese Wheel is a large wheel of Parmesan cheese with the center cut out of it. The chef pours whiskey on it and lights it while scraping the sides of all of the delicious goodness. Then, he tosses your pasta in and gives it a good swirl before serving it piping hot to you.
Smokey Joe’s is a great restaurant with outdoor seating. Tasty ribs, chicken burgers and pulled pork were some of the items our group ordered. The prices were reasonable, and the food and service were great. We ate here a couple of times and were never disappointed.
