4 Reasons to Stay at New York Hilton Midtown During Thanksgiving

Posted in Articles | by

There are many reasons to enjoy New York City during Thanksgiving, but the biggest draw is the Macy’s parade! If you are lucky enough to be in the Big Apple for this legendary Thanksgiving Day tradition, be sure to book a room at New York Hilton Midtown. This vibrant and upscale hotel is located directly on the parade route at the corner of 54th and 6th Avenues. That means you can ditch the crowds and enjoy the impressive lineup of marching bands, dancers and balloon floats directly from your own cozy guest room. There are a variety of Thanksgiving packages available, with partial and full parade view rooms.

Tip: Most viewing spots along the parade route are on a first-come-first-served basis. There are no designated seating or handicapped areas. With nearly 3.5 million people vying for the best viewing spot along the parade route, having a warm room (with a bathroom) is quite appealing!

Why New York Hilton Midtown is the best hotel on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Route

Location Location Location

Location is always key and New York Hilton Midtown is premier! As I mentioned above, the hotel is conveniently located along the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade route. You really can’t get a better viewing spot in all of Manhattan so this is a no brainer. On Wednesday before the parade, families can walk from the hotel to the American Museum of Natural History to watch balloons get inflated. The “inflation ceremony” is open to the public from 3 to 10 pm.

Once the parade is over, you will continue to enjoy being centrally located to partake in all the attractions New York City offers. Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Fifth Avenue shopping and Broadway are all within walking distance of New York Hilton Midtown.

Fact: The Macy’s parade has been held annually since 1924. It was suspended from 1942 to 1944 because the need for rubber and helium during World War II.

Throw in the cooking towel and indulge your epicurean fantasies during your stay at New York Hilton Midtown. Thanksgiving Day dining options include an option to have breakfast delivered to your room (for a fee). No need to go out and find something to eat before or during the parade; hang out in your comfy jammies a bit longer and enjoy this special service. Note that due to high demand there will be a minimum of one-hour delivery time.

Herb N’ Kitchen, Hilton’s new concept restaurant, will also have their breakfast buffet available if you desire more options. They also feature seasonal salads, artisanal sandwiches and brick oven pizzas during the day. Get your caffeine fix in the Barista Zone which offers specialty coffees. (You will definitely find me there.)
