Hilton Key Largo Resort – A Great Family Hotel in Key Largo
Whether your favorite vacation activity is relaxing in a hammock on the beach or paddling a kayak, you and your family will find that Hilton Key Largo Resort is an ideal tropical vacation destination. Here are the top reasons we found Hilton Key Largo Resort to be a great family hotel in Key Largo.
Hilton Key Largo Resort is situated on 12 acres of hardwood forest on the Gulf of Mexico. The views are spectacular from the beach, especially at sunset. You can also enjoy this beach view from the balcony of many of the rooms and the Treetops Restaurant on the 3rd floor.
On the beach, lounge chairs are set up and waiting for you just feet from the crystal clear water. And with the tropical weather you can play on the beach and swim in the ocean year round. We even took quick dips in the ocean during our trip in December.
Caribbean Watersports is located on the beach at the hotel and offers a wide variety of family-friendly activities and rentals. We went snorkeling right off the Hilton beach, and we rented stand-up paddleboards and kayaks. You can also rent Hobie catamarans and jet skis. We loved the convenience of renting items when we wanted them without leaving the beach.
Besides the beautiful beach and water sports, Hilton Key Largo also has a variety of activities planned for kids. My kids immediately jumped into the challenge of ScoutABout which is a scavenger hunt set throughout the property where you hunt for rubber bracelets while learning fun facts about the area. My daughter loved the arts and crafts offered and made a tie-dye shirt one day and sand art on a different afternoon. We all appreciated the Saturday night campfire with live music and s’mores on the beach!
Outside of the water, we found several family-friendly games at the hotel. The kids enjoyed playing corn hole and ping pong with a beach view, and it was easy to make new friends at these activities. My son played basketball on the hotel courts (they keep a ball at the front desk), and tennis courts were also available. There are also several pools: one for families, an adult-only pool and a hot tub away from the ocean, but we spent most of our time at the beach.
With its beautiful location and wide selection of activities to choose from, we found Hilton Key Largo Resort to be a great family hotel in Key Largo.
