Outdoor Activities

Every Saturday the St. Paul Farmer’s Market sets up shop downtown and sells locally grown vegetables, meats, cheeses and much more. The open air market is open year round and draws people from all around the Twin Cities.

Hidden Falls along the Mississippi River bluffs is a great way to spend an afternoon. There is a sandy beach area, walking trails, picnic spots, a pavilion and a small spring fed waterfall.

A Padelford Riverboat Cruise is a wonderful way to explore the mighty Mississippi. You can choose from a sightseeing tour or a dinner cruise. Either way, you will experience stunning views of the river.

Festivals and Events

The Festival of Nations is held annually the first weekend of May and is one of the nation’s largest multi-ethnic events. Taste foods from around the globe, meet artisans from across the world and listen to music from other cultures. This is a great event for children and families.

Grand Old Day takes place every first Sunday in June and begins with a parade and ends with a party. You will find over 150 food vendors, six festival gardens, local artists and plenty of fun.

St. Paul Winter Carnival is a fun way to enjoy the winters here in Minnesota. Come out to Rice Park for one of three parades, ice sculptures, live music and an outdoor beer festival. While you are there, be sure to catch the clues for the city-wide medallion hunt. But pay close attention, they hide that medallion well, and people gather from all around the Twin Cities to be the one who finds it.
