Fun Things to Do in Saratoga Springs, NY with Kids
Just south of the Adirondack Mountains is one of the most family friendly cities to visit. If you’re ever in upstate New York, you should definitely take the family to Saratoga Springs, NY. Although Saratoga Springs is well known for its horse racing and golf courses, this town is also a very family friendly place. Here are fun things to do in Saratoga Springs, NY with kids.
Broadway is the “Main Street” of this awesome and trendy upstate spot. Lined with boutiques, coffee shops and ice cream parlors, there is something for everyone. The Saratoga Hilton is conveniently located on right on Broadway, as is the Saratoga Springs Visitor Center, which you may want to make your first stop.
Carousel at Congress Park
If you visit Saratoga during between May and November, your kids can enjoy a ride (for just a buck) on this charming, historical carousel. This is a favorite for the kids and there were parents actually enjoying it, too!
This has got to be the most kid-friendly bookstore ever. The entire second floor of this amazing bookstore is dedicated to children. From the the train/play set in the toddler area to the awesome rattan swing chair in the teens’ section, Northshire Bookstore is great! They have many daily and monthly activities that really make reading fun for kids and truly help them develop a love for books!
Children’s Museum at Saratoga
This hands-on museum is aimed toward elementary-aged children and younger. I was there with my 2 and 6 year-olds and they loved it! However, older children and parents can also find themselves enjoying the museum when accompanying younger ones, like we did! The Children’s Museum at Saratoga offers different programs that are suitable for children of all ages. What’s great about this museum is that it encompasses all facets of learning and the kids don’t even realize that they are learning, science and math and practicing their motor skills. They are just having fun!
