Eat Your Way Around Fort Lauderdale

Posted in Articles | by

If you’re dreaming of a getaway to somewhere warmer and the palm trees are calling your name, pack your bags and head to Fort Lauderdale where the weather is warm, the people are welcoming and the food is amazing.

Get ready to stuff your gills with the some of the best food in south Florida!

Best Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale for Families

Beauty and the Feast

Located on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, the warm and alluring Beauty and the Feast restaurant offers fantastic ocean views and delicious American cuisine. Best bets here are the jerked pork spring rolls, their herb crusted chicken with sweet potato risotto and the down south pizza slathered with BBQ pork, coleslaw and chips. And don’t forget dessert!

O-B House

Local farm fresh ingredients are the star at this wholesome restaurant. If clean eating is important to you then you will be thrilled to know that the O-B House prides itself on quality over quantity. Everything you eat there is made from the freshest, purest ingredients including grass fed beef, free range eggs, low pasteurized milk straight from Florida farms and so much more. The O-B House is open for breakfast and lunch every day. Make sure you try their oven baked pancakes (the Florida corn is my favorite) and the O-B cast iron burger.

Blue Moon Fish Company

Located at right on the intercostal waterway, the Blue Moon Fish Company’s dock and dine experience has been voted “Best Waterfront Dining in Fort Lauderdale.” They boast true Floridian flavors with hints of Louisiana Cajun for a fantastic fusion of fresh and spicy. The Blue Moon Fish Company is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and opens early for a traditional brunch on Sundays. Favorite dishes include Rock’n Maine Lobster Roll for lunch and the Blackened local Mahi Mahi for dinner. For dessert indulge in a decadent Crunchy Top Crème Brulee or the Icky Sticky Caramel Tarte.

Louie Bossi

An impressive Italian menu along with a fun and festive outdoor piazza feel makes Louie Bossi a place for foodies to enjoy an afternoon or evening of incredible food, wine and relaxation. The Boss, a local lunch favorite piled high with porchetta and provolone on a house made roll spread with a fresh pesto, is a great choice. I, however, couldn’t get enough of the mouthwatering scottadito (grilled lamb chops with chili oil and aioli) I had for dinner. If you can muster enough room for dessert, you would be remiss not to try the tiramisu or the Venetian affogato (prosecco poured over gelato).

Must try dishes include: the Chorizo, Manchego and Roasted Tomato Omelet with fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast and the Organic Salmon with Charred Lemon Relish and Soft Herbs for lunch. For dinner the succulent Filet Mignon with a side of Truffle Mac and Cheese will make you weak in the knees.

Ocean2000

Beachfront dining and bold American flavors make the new Ocean2000 restaurant a real contender in the Fort Lauderdale food scene. What makes this restaurant so unique is their one of kind dining under the moon experience. Imagine sitting on the sweeping oceanfront veranda, dining al fresco with unobstructed views of a natural full moon reflecting off the Atlantic Ocean. This is an experience you don’t want to miss! Highlights of the evening include, special culinary selections, oversized telescopes positioned for viewing of the moon & table visits from a respected astrologer.
