Good Eats at Grand Central Market in Los Angeles
I love visiting Los Angeles for the sights, the people watching and, of course, the food. On my last visit, I was introduced to Grand Central Market which offers the freshest produce, unique shops and several vendors with the best eats in L.A.
Located at 317 S. Broadway, this open air venue has an extensive selection of global cuisine that even the pickiest eater will enjoy. Parking nearby can be tricky, but it’s absolutely worth the time to visit. I love how the market has so many affordable options that are made-to-order with the best ingredients. Once you and the family have purchased your food, find an open table or head outside for some sunny seating.
Eggslut is so much more than breakfast food! This egg-centric menu has delicious sandwiches and burgers that range from $3 to $11. It’s SUPER popular no matter when you stop by so definitely be prepared for a line, and yes certain items run out.
Looking for Thai comfort food? Sticky Rice is the place for you. This restaurant uses locally sourced and organic ingredients to give you authentic Thai food. The Thai BBQ Chicken and Crying Tiger Beef are some of my favorites. Be careful when they tell you it’s spicy because it’s the truth!
The Oyster Gourmet Bar
From the restaurant that’s known to serve some of the best oysters in Los Angeles, the quick service concept of the Oyster Gourmet Bar does not mean inferior quality. Instead, be prepared for some fine dining and the highest quality experience with every oyster.
Horse Thief BBQ
This BBQ stand opened by two Texas natives offers pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs and sides — all Texas-style with very generous portions that will feed even the hungriest traveler. Everything at Horse Thief BBQ is delicious and the 3-side plate or 2- and 3-meat plates on the menu are perfect for sharing.
Did you leave room for dessert, especially a massive frozen dairy treat? With unique flavors like Turkish Coffee, Eureka Lemon & Marionberries Ice, you will definitely find your favorite at McConnell’s. Plus, the shop lets you have a scoop, float or build-your-own ice cream sandwich.
Coffee lovers rejoice! With G&B coffees coming from around the world you will fall in love. The baristas are very knowledgeable and can modify your drink order to accommodate allergies and tastes. Grab your favorite G&B beverage, a baked good and a stool to watch the world go by.
Bonus: Hilton Checkers Los Angeles is only a 1/2-mile from Grand Central Market.
