Best Los Cabos Resort: Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort

Posted in Articles | by

If you’re trying to decide at which property to spend your hard-earned dollars or Hilton Honors points, I highly recommend Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort as a worthy choice. We visited there last April and were overwhelmed by the property.  While we expected to enjoy our Hilton accommodations, we didn’t expect that we would not want to leave the hotel. It is one of the best hotels in which we have ever stayed.

As it was our first trip to Mexico, we were ready to experience some Mexican food, culture and sunshine! Often when we are on vacation in a new city, we feel obligated to explore in order to experience the area’s true culture.   Not necessary here: Hilton Los Cabos has perfected the hotel experience for its guests by paying attention to the details and creating an environment where you experience the best of Mexico, right on site.

Here are the top five reasons why Hilton Los Cabos is the best Los Cabos resort:

1. The Surroundings

There is a beautiful view at every turn. When you want your guests to linger, ambiance is everything, and Hilton Los Cabos understands that concept. The open air hallways, lobby and bar are elegant and breezy. The bar and restaurants are quaint and decorated with plush tropical blues and greens. Unlike most desolate, lonely-looking lobby bars, I couldn’t wait for the opportunity to pass some time on the bar’s open veranda overlooking the sea, and our kids were captivated by the enormous fish tanks that line the bar entrance. Every morning, we ate breakfast outside while we listened to live guitar. Poolside, guests can choose cabanas or lounges with spectacular views of the infinity pool that overlook the Sea of Cortez.

My daughters could have spent hours just watching the sea life in the fish tanks in the lobby of Hilton Los Cabos.

 2. The Service

The service is really what separates the professionals from the rest, and it is here that Hilton Los Cabos excels in every detail.  Everywhere we went on property, there were servers available to answer our questions, bring us a fresh towel, or supply a wonderful snack or drink. The knowledgeable concierge, Dulce, helped us arrange excursions and spoke excellent English. In the afternoons, Jorge, the popsicle man, would come around offering complimentary popsicles to help guests beat the heat.

3. The Food

We didn’t need to venture far to find authentic Mexican food, because it’s available on site at the Mexican restaurant El Meson, where breakfast was served every morning. This was not the typical hotel breakfast buffet!  Here was the largest array of hot and cold dishes I have ever seen – and all of it fresh and delicious.

My kids ate made-to-order omelets every morning, while I sampled the Mexican dishes du jour – sautéed cactus, poached eggs in verde sauce or chicken chilequitos. I tried it all! Even their non-Mexican food was perfectly cooked and presented: the croissants were fresh and flaky, and the bacon was thick and salty sweet. The pickiest of eaters could find something they like here!

In addition to El Meson, there are two swim-up bars that serve lunch, an Italian restaurant, and a sushi restaurant. We did not have a disappointing meal or beverage.

I had no idea when I ordered that my entrée included pyrotechnics!

4. The Kid’s Club

The Kid’s Club has the most comprehensive and active schedule of any hotel we have visited and it’s FREE. It operates from 9 am to 5 pm daily with a mixture of crafts, games, and movies scheduled each day. The parents are required to check children in and out, and we found the clubhouse was clean and outfitted with the latest technology (read: Xbox). Our girls enjoyed playing air hockey, and making colorful yarn pompoms. Did I mention it was FREE?

5. The Amenities

There are plenty of amenities to keep families with kids of all ages happy. Of course there are the infinity pools, the oversized hot tubs (which I know are really for the adults, but the kids won’t stay out of them), and the beach service.  While the kids were enjoying the Kids’ Club, we enjoyed the work-out room, spa and tennis courts. There were even complimentary poolside mini-massages! Often, these types of hotel amenities can seem like haphazard add-ons, but the work-out room offered state-of-the-art equipment and the Spa Oasis was a Zen-like facility with a full menu of spa services.

On our first trip to Mexico, I was expecting to be charmed by the Mexican culture, and we were not disappointed! Hilton Los Cabos brings the best of Mexico to its property for its guests to enjoy.
