Experience Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland & Walt Disney World
On the evening of March 16, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast live-action film hits theaters nationwide. Plus, if you plan to visit either Walt Disney World or Disneyland and want to enjoy this “tale as old as time” with your children, you are in luck! Both parks are currently offering several magical attractions and experiences to transport you into the world of your family’s favorite film.
Beauty and the Beast Attractions and Shows
Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida are showing exclusive sneak peeks of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. Visit either the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land or Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream theater until March 26, 2017. In Florida, guests can also enjoy a special live-action film exhibit with the Enchanted Rose and Belle’s ball gown.
Disneyland in Anaheim, CA
The Royal Theatre will showcase daily live, in-person performances of scenes from Beauty and the Beast acted out by Belle herself, Mr. Smythe, Mr. Jones, and a troubadour cast with live piano playing. Get ready to participate in the storytelling and arrive at least 15 minutes early to get a spot on the rugs in front.
Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL
Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers daily 25-minute performances of Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage!, a Broadway-style show with your favorite songs from Belle, Mrs. Potts, the Beast and other beloved characters.
Movie-Themed Restaurants and Food
In Disneyland, the Village Haus restaurant in Fantasyland has been transformed into the Red Rose Taverne, a quick-service French eatery. This restaurant is the perfect location to enjoy a respite from the heat and enjoy new menu items inspired by the film. I recommend the Poutine Flatbread and Lemon Rose Cake.
For an on-the-go treat, visit Maurice’s Treats for Twists with special dipping sauces like marinara, strawberry and “Grey Stuff!”
Walt Disney World
The Be Our Guest restaurant inside the Magic Kingdom truly makes you feel like you are in the film. Servers at this quick-service, French-style restaurant deliver your meal on gold carts as you eat in either the Rose Gallery, the Ballroom or the lightning-filled West Wing. Yes, the “Grey Stuff” is delicious! For little ones who may be scared of the dark, I don’t recommend sitting in the West Wing. Try to arrive 30 minutes before the restaurant opens so you can experience the daily opening restaurant ceremony.
Also in the Magic Kingdom, Gaston’s Tavern offers more manly eats with plenty of trophies and your favorite guy waiting to meet his adoring villagers.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall within Norway in Epcot is a must for anyone who wants to dine, take a picture and get an autograph with royalty, including Belle. However, reservations can be hard to find if less than several months in advance.
Beauty and the Beast Character Encounters
In Disneyland, both Gaston and the Beast are walking characters which means they do not stop at designated times or locations; they just show up throughout the day. If you want a quick picture with your favorite guy, roam the path from the It’s a Small World ride to the Royal Theater. For a picture with Belle and two other Disney Princesses, visit the Royal Hall.
Walt Disney World
If visiting Magic Kingdom, Enchanted Tales with Belle is a must for everyone in the family. The entire family is transported into the story by an enchanted mirror to Beast’s castle. Get ready to be part of the storytelling as a Fork, Knight or the Beast himself! Best of all, each storytelling ends with a picture with Belle.
Lastly, do not forget the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques where Fairy Godmothers-in-training make your dreams come true with a magical makeover. Plus, each location will have exclusive park Beauty and the Beast apparel, toys and collectibles so anyone can bring home the magic.
For the latest Disney character information, download the Disneyland and Walt Disney World mobile apps. All shows and experiences except the boutiques and food are included with park admission.
Where to Stay
After a day of fun at Disneyland, you can take the complimentary shuttle back to Hilton Anaheim for a comfortable night’s rest. In Orlando, Hilton offers three hotels that are close to Walt Disney World with daily shuttles: Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, the newly-renovated Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, and Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista.
